San Pedro Retreat 3 Days
Experience the 3-Day/2-Night San Pedro Retreat led by a local Andean Master from the Q’ero community. The San Pedro cactus, indigenous to the Andes and Peruvian coastlands, holds a rich history within Inca and Pre-Inca religious traditions. This remarkable Master Plant heightens our sensitivity to Mother Earth, Pachamama, fostering a profound connection with the natural world. The retreat opens our hearts to a deeper understanding of our environment’s delicate and exquisite beauty.
The 3-Day San Pedro retreat offers two powerful San Pedro ceremonies and attentive care at our retreat center during your stay. This spiritual journey encompasses two essential Andean ceremonies: the Kuti ceremony at the outset and a Pachamama ceremony at the retreat’s conclusion. This ceremony has the magical ability to transcend time and space, prompting you to reevaluate your existence in the present moment, rekindling your deepest intentions toward Mother Earth, Pachamama.
For centuries, Wachuma retreats in Peru have been harnessed by various Andean civilizations for their profound visionary and healing qualities. This offering to Mother Earth unlocks realms of heightened awareness, profound healing, and wisdom, rekindling one’s zest for life. This sacred plant also serves to restore the balance of spirit, mind, and body.

Preparation before a San Pedro retreat, which often involves the ingestion of this sacred plant in shamanic ceremonies, is an important part of the process. The diet beforehand may vary according to the directions of the shaman or spiritual guide who is supervising you. However, here are some common dietary guidelines that are usually recommended prior to a San Pedro retreat:
- Light Eating: It is recommended to eat light, easy-to-digest foods in the days leading up to the retreat. Avoid heavy meals, fried foods and red meat.
- Vegetarian or Vegan: Many shamanic traditions suggest following a vegetarian or vegan diet for at least a week before the retreat. This can help purify the body and mind.
- Avoid Stimulants: Refrain from consuming caffeine, alcohol and other stimulating substances for at least a few days before the retreat.
- Salt and Sugar Reduction: Limit salt and sugar intake in your diet. Opt for fresh and natural foods.
- Hydration: Drink plenty of water and fluids to stay hydrated.
- Meditation and Reflection: In addition to the physical diet, it is important to prepare the mind and spirit. Spend time in meditation, reflection and intention. Consider your goals and what you hope to achieve during the retreat.
Remember that these are general guidelines, and it is essential to follow the specific instructions provided by the shaman or spiritual guide leading the San Pedro retreat. Each tradition and retreat may have its own dietary recommendations and restrictions. In addition, the pre-retreat diet is part of a larger process of physical and spiritual preparation for the San Pedro experience, so it is essential to follow it respectfully and seriously.
